Interviews
John Ternus interviews and public appearances
John Ternus was not a media regular before the CEO announcement. This page lists public appearances and quoted interviews from reputable outlets. JohnTernusCEO.com has not interviewed him.
Editorial rule
If a quote appears here, it was published by Apple or by a named newsroom. This site has not interviewed John Ternus. Do not cite us as a primary interview.
Apple statements (primary)
The April 20, 2026 newsroom release is the longest official Ternus statement in the succession file. He thanks Apple, names Steve Jobs and Tim Cook, and pledges to carry the company's values. Full text: Apple Newsroom.
On-stage, he has appeared at Apple product events and WWDC sessions as a hardware executive. Those are company events, not independent interviews. Video belongs on Apple's channels.
Newsroom interviews and quotes
Reputable features have quoted him from earlier conversations, including:
- A CNBC interview, cited in multiple roundups, in which he describes himself as a mechanical engineer from product design and says he has worked on most Apple product types; some write-ups also quote him on AirPods changing earphones.
- CNN and others reprinted the newsroom remarks rather than a new sit-down.
- Daily Pennsylvanian coverage of his 2024 Penn Engineering commencement remarks, including a line about engineers staying curious and caring about the work.
When we cannot independently fetch a full transcript, we point to the citing outlet instead of reconstructing a Q&A.
LinkedIn is not an interview
After April 20, 2026, screenshots of Ternus's sparse LinkedIn profile circulated widely. That is a public-page observation, not an interview. AP noted the profile listed Virtual Research Systems then Apple, and a July 2001 join date. This site does not scrape or republish the profile photo.
What to expect next
As CEO he will likely speak at the annual fall product event and on earnings calls. Those will be primary sources when published. This page should be updated with links, not with imagined answers.
How we quote
Short excerpts only, with a publisher name and a link when we have one. We do not reconstruct a Q&A from memory. We do not turn a commencement one-liner into a management book.
If you came here looking for a sit-down exclusive, it does not exist on this domain. The news index tracks developments. The CEO page explains the job. The biography is the life story as far as public documents go.
