Apple's leadership biography and the April 2026 CEO announcement are the primary texts. They do not give a year-by-year product diary. They give a scope:

Product design, not industrial design
Apple's public org chart still separates hardware engineering from industrial design (Molly Anderson) and human interface design (Steve Lemay). Ternus's documented job is the engineering organization that makes devices manufacturable, durable, and shippable — not the claim that he sketched every enclosure.
iPhone
Apple's April 2026 text is the strongest official iPhone paragraph: the previous fall's lineup, including the thin iPhone Air and the 17 Pro models, is presented as work "on full display" under his hardware leadership.
Reported The Verge and others describe him as the executive who helped introduce iPhone Air in September 2025. Wikipedia and several news features say he took iPhone hardware from Dan Riccio around 2020, including early 5G phones. iPad and AirPods as "new lines"
Apple uses the word instrumental for iPad and AirPods. That is a high-level credit. 9to5Mac and The Verge add that he shepherded AirPods from a hardware-engineering seat after the 2013 VP promotion, and that iPad work stretches back toward the original product. Apple does not publish a "Ternus invented AirPods" sentence. This site will not either.
Mac and Apple silicon
Apple says Ternus's Mac work helped the category become "more powerful and more popular globally than at any time in its 40-year history," and it names MacBook Neo. The silicon transition — Intel to Apple-designed chips — is described in the same newsroom package as a Cook-era company achievement. Johny Srouji is the executive historically associated with the chips themselves.

Apple Watch
Apple includes Watch among the generations Ternus oversaw. The newsroom specifically mentions 3D-printed titanium in Apple Watch Ultra 3 as an example of materials work under his leadership. Secondary sources say Watch hardware moved into his remit in late 2022.

Durability, carbon, repair
These themes are unusual in a CEO announcement and therefore worth taking seriously as Apple's chosen frame. The company is telling investors and the public that Ternus is not only a ship-the-iPhone operator. It is pointing at:

- Additive manufacturing (3D-printed titanium)
- Repairability / longer product life
